Vape coils are an essential component of any vaping device, found inside either the tank or the pod. They heat the e-liquid and create the vapour, and they are made from conductive metals such as stainless steel or kanthal so the liquid heats efficiently. When the battery fires, the coil vaporises the e-liquid soaked into the wick around it.
No coil lasts forever — constant heating and cooling means it eventually needs replacing, which is why every vaper keeps spares. Coils come in a range of resistances, measured in ohms, and these matter: the wrong resistance in the wrong device gives an unpleasant vape. Four families, and the one you need depends entirely on how you like to vape.
For MTL vaping you want coils with a high resistance of 1.0 ohm or above. These are best in lower-powered devices, providing a tighter draw focused more on flavour than vapour — a sensation closer to smoking.
Sub-ohm coils sit below 1.0 ohm, and these days many are below 0.6 ohm. They use more e-liquid but produce far more vapour. As a rule of thumb: the lower the resistance, the bigger the clouds. Between 0.6 and 1.0 ohm you get a restricted direct-lung vape — decent vapour, tighter draw.
Replacement pods include the coil and the e-liquid tank in one part. When the coil is spent you replace the whole pod and you are ready to vape — no separate coil to seat. It could not be simpler.
We stock coil wire for making your own coils. Building them yourself can be cheaper and more customisable. We would not recommend jumping straight into DIY if you are new to vaping — pre-built coils give you the benefits of rebuildables without the coil bending.

Between one and two weeks for most people, but time is the wrong unit — it depends on how much you vape and what you vape. The signals worth acting on:
Priming is the whole game. A new coil is dry. Fire it dry and you burn the wick in the first second, and that coil is finished before it started.
Resistance decides the kind of vape, not the quality. Above 1.0Ω is a tight cigarette-like draw — pair it with 10mg or 20mg salts. 0.6Ω–1.0Ω is the middle ground most pod kits ship with. Below 0.6Ω is airier and warmer and uses far more liquid — pair it with 3mg or 6mg, or it will be harsh. Putting 20mg salt through a 0.4Ω coil is the single most common way to make vaping unpleasant.

These are series, not models, and the difference matters. Everything filed under Uwell Caliburn is a Caliburn part, but a G2 coil will not go in an A2 and an A3S pod will not go in an Explorer. Match the exact model printed on your device, not just the family name — that is the most common wasted order in vaping, and no compatibility list built from a series name can save you from it.

Depth of refill range is the number that matters when you are choosing what to replace a dead kit with. A series we hold twenty refills for is one you will be able to buy pods for in two years; a series with one is a gamble, however good the kit is. Note that pods rarely carry over between generations, even inside a series — a Caliburn G3 pod is not a G4 pod, so check the exact pod rather than the family name.
